Go to a County Recorder's Office in your home area in California or here in Santa Barbara. Bring identification and a checkbook. You may obtain a regular license or a confidential license. Confidential licenses can only be used in the county where you will marry. Always carefully read the proof the Recorder will give you to check before your license is issued. Errors can be made. If you need a Confidential License and can't obtain one at the S.B. County Recorder's Office, we can provide you with that license for an additional fee for private issuance.
