If you obtain your license in Santa Barbara, you can apply after 10 days by post, in person, or on line.   You can also pay an additional fee of $10.00 and get your certified copies the same day as you are married - if it is during hours that the Recorder's office is open.   If you obtain your license in Los Angeles, you will have to wait six weeks before requesting certified copies UNLESS you bring the paperwork for obtaining certified copies (form, check, return envelope) to your Officiant who will file the request at the same time as your license is filed.   Then your certified copies will automatically be sent to you when ready.
